YCCI was formed in 1997 when a council of youth representatives came together from Bangaladesh, Cambodia, Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Lao, Philippines, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

YCCI is a pioneer organization of youth addressing issues that are affecting the younger generation in Asia, though awareness and capacity building , networking and mobilizing solidarity actions.click to enlarge

Goal and objectives

• To build awareness and motivate youth to be socially engaged.
• To build leadership capacity among the youth to carry out activities effectively.
• To promote networking and solidarity among youth towards coordinated actions in the field of child and human rights, environmental conservation, economic justice and peace.
• o Participate in policy advocacy on child and youth rights including non-state and refugee youth.

Major activities

• Education, Information and exchanges through newsletter, workshop, seminar and youth camp
• Job creation and advisory services for the unemployed youth
• Youth for conservation of environment and nature
• Preventive education for youth on drugs and AIDS
• Solidarity actions against Human Right violation, for complete elimination of nuclear weapons, and for economic justice and peace
• Publication of a Newsletter and occasional report
